Imagery x poetry

VIKTOR VAUTHIER  PHOTOGRAPHY

Accent pale skin, dark eye shadow
A foreign place I took her hand
over the counter looks
reception response
distant
I felt her gaze

Poolside

Mezzanine motel pull over
Single white sheets.
Ankles creek over heartbeats
fleck of muddy grey
warm waters
Deep breaths
Cold damp and black
See through sweater fleece like mesh.

Inanimate objects

Headlights drive by,
hunger pains turn.
Dark brown hair fringe flat and greasy.
Blankets screwed and twisted.
One last cigarette,
It started to rain lightly.
She fell deep asleep.

Still Life |Jia Zhangke

Fibers

I remember the first time you ate shit in front of everyone in 8th grade.
I remember the food that I threw at you when I was 13.
I remember the face you used to have before the
Accident and the scars it has left you.
I remember walking with you along a beach in Mexico,
Sand between our toes.
I remember sitting in an airplane and punching you in the arm.
I remember the passion that you inspired me with on that day back in June.
I remember how you’d never sit next to me because I annoyed you.
I remember buying ice cream with you from an old man.
I remember shooting a bird with you in the woods.
I remember eating shit in front of everyone in 8th grade.

I remember because I made it all up.
